Anabolic steroids found hidden in truck

Thousands of tablets and vials containing anabolic steroids were seized on Monday during a police operation in the wider region of Thebes, central Greece.

The tablets had been hidden beneath olives in a metal container on a transport company truck.

According to reports, a total of 21,068 tablets and 2,971 vials containing anabolic steroids were confiscated.

Eleven arrested for smuggling, dealing illegal steroids

A police operation on Monday led to the arrest of 11 Greeks - 10 men and a woman - believed to be members of an international criminal racket dealing in anabolic steroids in Greece and other countries.

Working together, officers of the Greek Police (ELAS) and the Financial Police conducted simultaneous raids in Attica, Crete and Epirus.

CAS: Bulgarian Weightlifters Remain Banned from 2016 Rio Olympics

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the Bulgarian Weighlifters Federation (BWF) appeal of a 2016 Rio Olympics ban imposed on the country's athletes over positive doping cases.

"The BWF remains banned from entering the next edition of the Olympic Games," the Lausanne-based top court for sports said in a statement.

Bulgarian Customs Seize Estimated BGN 15 M Worth of Smuggled Anabolic Steroids  

Customs officials at Bulgaria's Danube Bridge 2 checkpoint in Vidin, at the border with Romania, have seized nearly 15,000 vials marked as containing anabolic steroids being smuggled in a Slovak-registered van.

The vehicle carried packages of dog food to Slovakia, according to the cargo manifest. The starting point of the trip was not disclosed.

Discussion on bill on prevention of doping in sport

BELGRADE - Members of the Serbian parliament concluded a principled debate on the draft law on the prevention of doping in sport, which will ensure that Serbian legislation is fully harmonized with international regulations in this respect and the new World Anti-Doping Code, which will come into force next year.

A total of 16 amendments will be discussed on October 15.
