ISIL bomber killed in operation 'targeted Republic rally' in Ankara

Turkish police on Oct. 19 fatally shot an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who was believed to be planning a suicide bomb attack in the capital. 

The man was killed in a raid on a ninth-floor apartment in the Eryaman neighborhood on the province's outskirts after he ignored warnings to surrender and opened fire on police, Ankara Gov. Ercan Topaca said.

Warrants issued for 215 police personnel for using ByLock

Ankara prosecutors issued warrants for 215 Ankara Police Department personnel, including senior officials, on Oct. 12 as part of a probe into the Gülenist movement on suspicions that the personnel were using the ByLock program, a messaging application that is said to have been used by the group for concealed conversations, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Courthouse evacuated over false bomb notice in Turkey's Antalya

The main courthouse in the southern resort of Antalya was evacuated over a false bomb scare on Oct. 6, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz told the agency that the courthouse was evacuated as a precautionary measure over a bomb threat.
