Turkish lawmakers authorize sending troops to fight in Libya
Turkey's parliament has authorized sending troops to Libya to help the UN-supported government in Tripoli battle forces loyal to a rival government.
Turkish lawmakers voted 325-184 at an emergency session on Thursday in favor of allowing a one-year mandate to deploy troops.
Apartment fire kills at least four in Turkish capital
At least four people were killed in an apartment fire in the Turkish capital Ankara early on Jan. 1.
The blaze broke out in the basement of an apartment in the Altındağ district, according to an Anadolu Agency correspondent on the scene.
Many people suffering from smoke inhalation were taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire is unknown.

Turkey names its celestial objects 'Anadolu' and 'Göktürk'
Turkey has chosen the names for a far-flung planet and its local star, said a Turkish astronomer on Dec. 17.
In June, Turkey got the naming rights to the star known as WASP-52 as well as its exoplanet, WASP-52-B, under a campaign by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
