Bulgaria's Border Police Reports No Heightened Migrant Pressure

There is no heightened migrant pressure on Bulgarian borders, with the number of refugees passing through the country's borders comparable to the figures from last year.

This was announced by Antonio Angelov, director of border police, in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) on Tuesday.

Bulgaria's Police, Military to Carry Out Drill on SW Border

A joint exercise is to be conducted on Saturday in Southwestern Bulgaria, at the border with Greece and near the one in Macedonia, in light of potentially increasing migratory pressure.

The drill will be held in the region of Petrich, Sandanski and Kulata, the latter being a major border crossing point with Greece.

Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP Reports 9-Month Profit of BGN 156 M

Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant has reported a profit of around BGN 156 M for the first nine months of the year, according to Dimitar Angelov, CEO of the N-plant.

Angelov, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, made clear that the accounting profit of the Kozloduy NPP for the first six months of stood at BGN 116 000 000.

Key Bulgarian Opposition Official Quitting Party

Strahil Angelov, a former lawmaker and now deputy head of one of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP)'s local organizations in the capital Sofia, is leading the party.

Along with two other BSP members, Iskra Neycheva and Bozhidar Petrov, Angelov is quitting due to the lack of development within the party which, in his words, is failing to move forward in a constantly changing world.

Names of Workers Under the Collapsed Hotel in Varna Now Announced

''We were about 15-20 people working on the site,'' stated Stefan Angelov, one of the workers on the site of the collapsed hotel Veronika in Varna Wednesday. ''Around 5 pm, Mister Goergiev ordered to five people to enter the hotel and to start destroying the base with metal cutting machines. One of them refused. So, the other four were ordered to go in.
