Turkish health minister says eight have died of swine flu amid rise in viruses
Eight people diagnosed with swine flu have died in Turkey, Health Minister Mehmet Müezzino?lu has said, amid a rise in viral infections over the past 10 days.
"The number of patients who have died after being diagnosed with the H1N1 virus is eight," Müezzino?lu said, answering parliamentary questions on Jan. 5.

Bird flu cases have been detected in both the European and Anatolian sides of Istanbul, Turkey?s biggest metropolitan city, according to a report.
Authorities have found traces of the bird flu virus in wild birds in both the Kartal and Arnavutköy district, located respectively on the Anatolian and European sides of the city, daily Milliyet reported on July 2.

Batut: 30 fatalities related to flu virus in Serbia
BELGRADE - A total of 30 fatalities that can be brought in connection with the flu have been reported in Serbia this year, and the largest number of them (17 cases) were caused by A (H3) virus, Director of the Public Health Institute of Serbia Dragan Ilic stated on Friday.
New Ebola trial vaccine 'safe': researchers
