Prime Ministry declares Oct. 30 administrative holiday in the run-up to polls

Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu signed on Oct. 22 a decree declaring Oct. 30 as an administrative holiday in the run-up to the Nov. 1 snap elections. 

The top election authority set Nov. 1 as the date for Turkey's early elections, with its head stating that it took "seasonal conditions" into consideration while making its decision.

Six Turkish universities rank in top 20 in emerging Europe and Central Asia countries

Six Turkish universities have placed in the top 20 of a university ranking list taking into consideration 20 nations from emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA). 

A total of 12 universities made the top 100 in the list compiled by the QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) University Rankings for the education year of 2015/2016. 

What to expect in the upcoming elections

On Nov. 1, Turks (and Kurds and others who happen to be Turkish citizens) will go to the ballots again. Naturally, everybody is curious about what will happen, and what will really have changed since June 7. At that time, no party was able to win a parliamentary majority, and in the following weeks, the country was unable to form a coalition government. Will things change now?
