Going to police school changed Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş, the off-duty police officer who killed Russia's ambassador to Turkey last week, according to the deceased officer's sister.
Seher Ö. said her 22-year-old brother had no dream of becoming a police officer.

Russian leader attends memorial for assassinated envoy Karlov
Senior Russian leaders attended a memorial for Andrey Karlov, Russia's assassinated ambassador to Turkey, at the country's Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Dec. 22.
Karlov's family, President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and ministry staff all attended the event.

The assassin of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was related to a movement led by U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan claimed late on Dec. 21.
"Where he grew up and all connections reveal connections to FETÖ [the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization] membership."

Turkish authorities have released the relatives of an off-duty policeman who assassinated Russian Ambassador to Ankara Andey Karlov, Doğan News Agency has reported on Dec. 22.
World condemns bomb attack in Turkey's Kayseri
World leaders and other members of the international community have expressed their condolences and condemnation following the Dec. 17 car bomb attack in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri which killed 14 soldiers and wounded 56 others.
The United States condemned the "cowardly attack," showing solidarity with the country against terror.
