The dinar rose against the euro by 0.1 percent Friday, making the official medium exchange rate RSD 123.0018, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said.

Turkish lender Halkbank has aimed to become a commercial "bridge" between Turkey and Serbia since buying a stake in the lender in May 2015, the bank's general director for Serbia, Kenan Bozkurt, has told Anadolu Agency in an interview.    

The dinar (RSD) strengthened against the euro (EUR) by 0.1 percent on Friday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 121.8943.

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) also said that against the single European currency, the national currency is 0.2 percent down on the month and 0.3 percent up on the year.

Halkbank, one of Turkey's biggest banks and a state-run lender, on June 17 opened its 33rd branch in the Cair municipality of the Macedonian capital Skopje.

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar went up by 0.2 percent against the euro on Friday, so the official middle exchange rate is 1EUR = RSD 120.6327, the National Bank of Serbia has stated.

The indicative exchange rate went down by 0.3 percent against the dollar and is at RSD 110.4796.

BELGRADE - Turkey's Halkbank, which formally acquired Cacanska banka on Friday, intends to expand operations in Serbia through supporting investments, Serbian Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic said.

Turkey?s state-run Halkbank said on March 20 it has signed a deal to buy a 76.76 percent stake in Serbian lender Cacanska Banka for 10.1 million euros ($10.9 million).

Cacanska Banka has a 1.1 percent market share and assets of 263 million euros.

BELGRADE - The dinar has not changed significantly against the euro, and the official middle exchange rate stands at RSD 120.1831, the National Bank of Serbia has stated.

The Serbian currency is 1.3 percent up on the month, and 3.5 down on the year against the single European currency.
