Culture Ministry denies claims about ancient theater under Antalya school

The Culture and Tourism Ministry has issued a statement about claims that a Roman-era ancient theater has been unearthed under the Antalya Technical School for Girls in the southern province of Antalya's Kaleiçi neighborhood, as well as claims that the school building may be demolished to unearth the theater. 

Police disperse locals protesting plan to demolish public park for carpark in Turkey's south

Police in the southern province of Antalya have dispersed locals protesting a decision to demolish a public park in order to construct a carpark. 

Residents of the Cumhuriyet neighborhood had been staging a sit-in protest in the Göçmen Park for a week in order to resist the Antalya Municipality's plan to demolish the park, but were met with a police intervention on July 31.  

Russian tourist dies after feeling faint in sea in Turkey's Antalya

A Russian tourist on July 30 died after feeling faint in the sea in the Kemer district of the southern province of Antalya, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The tourist, identified as 37-year-old Oxsana Astafeyeva, was reportedly swimming at the hotel where she was holidaying in the Beldibi neighborhood with her family.
