NATO to treat Russia "more as adversary than partner"

BRUSSELS -- Russia's "annexation of Crimea and its apparent manipulation of unrest in eastern Ukraine have fundamentally changed the NATO-Russia relationship."

This is according to Deputy Secretary-General of the western military alliance Alexander Vershbow.

Britain Deploys 4 Fighter Jets to Patrol Baltic Airspace

Britain is dispatching four Typhoon fighter jets to the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to help carry out NATO's air policing role in the area.

The UK fast jets will reinforce the Polish contribution to the air policing mission; a standing defensive mission undertaken by rotations of aircraft from contributing nations on a 4-month cycle.

Finland to Sign Memorandum on NATO Assistance

Finland is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with NATO, under which it will be able to receive assistance from foreign forces.

The country's Defense Minister Carl Haglund was however ruled out that it could join the alliance.

According to Finnish broadcaster YLE's website, the Memorandum of Understanding resembles a military interoperability deal.
