Activists skeptical about government’s beach leasing plan
Activist groups on Paros and the Cyclades islands in general, which led the movement for the public's unhindered access to beaches, have expressed reservations about the Finance Ministry's recent draft bill to improve the system of leasing beaches and tackle illegalities.
Five Antiparos villas sold for €42 mln
A few days ago, a sale was completed that sets the bar for excellent quality and location holiday properties at the highest levels: Five villas on Antiparos island in the Cyclades, located on an area of 36,000 square meters in total, were sold together for a price that sources say amounted to 42 million euros.

Despotiko, a font of ancient treasures
Archaeologist Yannos Kourayos has been digging on Despotiko since 1997. Yet even as the pioneer of excavation efforts on the uninhabited islet southwest of Antiparos in the Cyclades, he is surprised at the wealth of treasures the site has yielded over the years. In addition to this year's discoveries, his tally includes two complete kouros statues and 11 heads.

There has been an unprecedented explosion in construction on the Cyclades in the Aegean over the last five years, according to data from the National Statistical Service on new constructions from 2018 to 2022 on the region's 23 inhabited islands.

Body of drowned migrant washes up on Antiparos
The body of woman, a passenger on a migrant boat that sank northeast of Mykonos on May 26, was found washed up on a rocky shore on the island of Antiparos on Tuesday.
The body was recognised by two other passengers.

Greece to announce curfews on three islands, report says
Deputy Civil Protection Minister Nikos Hardalias is expected to announce curfews on the popular islands of Spetses, Paros and Antiparos, in an effort to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus, according to a Greek news website on Friday.
