Neo-Nazi lawyer permanently disbarred
A lawyer who represented former MEP Yiannis Lagos of the now disbanded Golden Dawn party has been permanently disbarred from the Athens Bar Association after a decision on Wednesday by the Secondary Disciplinary Council, chaired by Supreme Court President Ioanna Klapa-Christodoulea.

No ‘quick wins’ in defending democracy
Democracy is under threat across the world. Fewer people today live in democracies than did two decades ago. Opposition to democracy, and to capitalism, has grown as populists launch "culture wars" - cruelly exploiting migrants and minorities - and appeal to the socially and economically excluded. Judge who probed Golden Dawn named new Supreme Court chief
One of the chief investigative magistrates in the trial against the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn organization, Ioanna Klapa, has been appointed as the new president of Greece's Supreme Court.
Klapa became a judge in 1984 and joined the country's highest criminal court in August 2020 after distinguishing herself in the widely publicized trial.

The entry into Parliament of three far-right parties and the radical leftist Course of Freedom is, without doubt, the most alarming message to emerge from Sunday's general election. It should not, however, sully the deeper message from the ballot box, which, dare I say, is not negative.

Socialist PASOK has petitioned the Supreme Court to block the candidature of a jailed former Golden Dawn MP from the June 25 election.

GD lawyer booted from Athens Bar Association over Nazi salute
The Athens Bar Association's (ABA) disciplinary board removed Konstantinos Plevris, a lawyer representing a former member of the neo-Nazi criminal organization Golden Dawn, after he gave a Nazi salute in front of judges at an appeal hearing attended by dozens of people.
