Friday protesters note importance of fight for human rights

Ljubljana – The Friday protesters gathered last evening in Ljubljana’s Republic Square, dedicating this week’s protest to Human Rights Day to emphasise the importance of fight for their protection. They said that these were often violated precisely because of conscious acts and policies of the current authorities in Slovenia.

Govt urged to resign or face mass protest on 28 May

Ljubljana – Friday’s anti-government protesters gave the government a week to resign or face a massive “uprising” to push for an early election next Friday. The ultimatum was issued as the latest weekly cycling protest coincided with an event staged by a movement for the Slovenian Palestinian community with many of the protesters waving Palestinian flags.

Art professionals protest in central Athens

Professionals of the art industry demonstrated in central Athens on Thursday demanding government action to support their profession which has been severely hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

The demonstration, which included representatives from several unions and associations, gathered outside the University of Athens central building before marching to Parliament.
