Iceberg Larger Than Majorca Broke off from Northern Edge of Antarctica
A mammoth slab of ice has separated from the frozen edge of Antarctica in the Weddell Sea, giving birth to the world's largest iceberg, the European Space Agency (ESA) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Argentinean base of Esperanza, Antarctica, recorded the hottest day since temperature statistics began, the National Weather Service said.
Yesterday, at the Esperanza Research Station, temperatures rose to 18.3 degrees Celsius at noon.
The previous record was 17.5 degrees, measured on March 24, 2015.

Huge Chunk of Ice Breaks off Antarctica
A giant iceberg twice the size of Luxembourg has broken off an ice shelf on the Antarctic peninsula and is now adrift in the Weddell Sea.
"It is a really major event in terms of the size of the ice tablet that we've got now drifting away," said Anna Hogg, an expert in satellite observations of glaciers from the University of Leeds.
