Turkish president receives newly elected Armenian Patriarch

Turkey's president received Sahak Maşalyan, head of Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey, at the presidential complex, on Jan. 14.

The meeting was closed to press.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also hosted Maşalyan and congratulated him for being elected as the 85th Armenian patriarch in Turkey.

Çavuşoğlu wished the best for the Armenian community and Turkey.

Archbishop Mesrob II Mutafyan, the top religious leader of Orthodox Christians Armenians in Turkey, was laid to rest on March 17 as many political and religious figures and Armenian nationals from overseas have bid their final farewells to him.

Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon

The magnificent Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, which is lesser known in Turkey, is made up of various sections. The museum displays ivories, paintings, sculptures, medals, manuscript books and silver dining sets from Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Greek, Roman, Islamic, Armenian, Middle Eastern and European art.

Prosecution rules out further investigation into HDP deputy’s assassination plot comments

The prosecution has decided to stop an investigation based on the HDP lawmaker Garo Paylan’s remarks about assassination plots targetting Turkish academics, journalists and politicians living in Europe, especially Germany.
