Under conditions of crisis, European solidarity should not remain only in words. The quick coping with the situation created by the coronavirus in Europe requires that the European institutions and member states should pool joint efforts. President Rumen Radev will attend the summit meeting of the heads of State of the Arraiolos Group which this year will be held in Athens on October 10 and 11, the President's press secretariat said Wednesday. 
The Arraiolos Summit is bringing together heads of state and parliamentary republics of the European Union to discuss topical issues on Europe's agenda.

Riga. The future of the European Union depends on its ability to involve its citizens in the decision-making process.

"Today, Europe is facing more problems than ever before in the years after World War II and, regretfully, in this decisive moment, the European Union looks weak and divided," stated Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev at the 12th meeting of the heads of state from the Arraiolos group.

A meeting of ten presidents of parliamentary republics across the EU is to start in Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city, on Wednesday.

The migrant crisis is again expected to top the agenda alongside the challenges Europe is facing after Britain's decision to leave the EU.

Bulgaria will host the 2016 edition of the Arraiolos meeting, which gathers the non-executive presidents of EU member states.

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev identified the hosting of the meeting as a historical success for Bulgaria and its foreign policy.
