The massive wildfire in August in northeastern Attica that burned 10,500 hectares was caused by a short circuit in a power pole of grid operator DEDDHE, an investigation by fire service arson investigators has found.
Teen arrested for arson attack on police car
A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with an arson attack on a police patrol car in Aetolia, central Greece.
Authorities say the teenager was responsible for setting fire to the vehicle, which was parked outside the Aetolia police directorate.

Beekeeping deputy mayor faces arson investigation in deadly Corinthia fire
The 70-year-old deputy mayor of Xylokastro-Evrostini, in the Peloponnese, the main suspect for arson in a deadly fire that occurred in late September, has been given 48 hours to testify.

A criminal prosecution was filed today, Wednesday, against the deputy mayor of Xylokastro-Evrostini for the deadly fire on September 29th that claimed the lives of two people and burned 71,000 acres of forest.
Man sentenced to prison for arson in Ilia
A 27-year-old man was sentenced on Monday to three years and six months in prison after being arrested for arson by investigative officers of the fire service in Ilia.
According to the fire service's announcement, the fire occurred on Sunday in a plot of land in Kyllini, Peloponnese.
After the sentencing, the 27-year-old was taken to Nafplio prison.
