Cindy Sherman at the Cycladic | Athens | May 30 – November 4
The Museum of Cycladic Art (4 Neofitou Douka) presents a landmark exhibition featuring over a hundred pieces by renowned American artist Cindy Sherman (b. 1954). From May 30 to November 4, the exhibition will showcase Sherman's iconic series, including the groundbreaking "Untitled Film Stills" (1977-1980), "Rear Screen Projections" (1980) and "Color Studies" (1982).
Istanbul Biennial postponed to 2025
The 18th Istanbul Biennial, for which the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) has been working since March last year with some 58 artists from around the world to realize the event this September, has been postponed to 2025, İKSV has announced.

Irwin, NSK founder Uranjek dies
Ljubljana – Roman Uranjek, one of the founders of two the most influential Slovenian contemporary arts collectives, Irwin and Neue Slowenische Kunst, has died aged 60, several media have reported. Born in Trbovlje in 1961, Uranjek entered the art scene with the Irwins in 1983, creating an an arts phenomenon whose influence stretches from the 1980s to the present.

Half-shredded Banksy fetches $25.4 mln on return
A Banksy picture which was half sliced by a shredder concealed in its frame when it was sold at auction fetched $25.4 million when it went back under the hammer in the same room in London on Oct. 14.
Onlookers gasped when the then-titled "Girl with Balloon" was sucked into a shredder as the hammer fell following a bid of $1.4 million at an October 2018 auction at Sotheby's in London.

A Banksy artwork that sensationally self-shredded just after it sold for $1.4 million is up for sale again at several times the previous price.

Auctioneer Sotheby's said that "Love is in the Bin"' be offered at a sale in London on Oct. 14. The piece has a pre-sale estimate of 4 million pounds to 6 million pounds ($5.5 million to $8.3 million).
Picasso kept in Maine house closet for 50 years is sold
A mixed-media painting attributed to Pablo Picasso has been sold after spending 50 years in a closet in a house in Maine.
John McInnis Auctioneers, based in Massachusetts, confirmed that the painting entitled "Le Tricorne" sold last week, the Boston Globe reported.
