Tom Hanks Tweets Greek Independence Day parade in NYC
“I do love a parade. Don’t you? Hanx” was Tom Hanks’ Tweet, along with video footage, of the annual March 25 Greek Independence Day parade down New York’s Fifth Avenue on Sunday.
The versatile two-time Oscar-winning movie star – and well-known philhellene — apparently took part in the parade as well.
Ex FinMin Darius Valcov's paintings to undergo expert assessment, might next go on display
The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) confirmed having identified 101 paintings former Finance Minister Darius Valcov had acquired via go-betweens; the works of art will undergo expert assessment and will be further placed in the custody of a specialist institution that will be able to put them on display.

Suspended sentence in Picasso 'stolen works' trial
A French court on March 20 handed down a two-year suspended sentence to a former electrician and his wife, who hid 271 Picasso works in their garage for close to 40 years.
The court in the French Riviera town of Grasse found Pierre and Danielle Le Guennec guilty of possessing stolen goods, after a trial that made headlines in France and abroad.

Picasso’s pottery art to be auctioned in London
Pablo Picasso’s pottery artworks are being auctioned off by Sotheby’s in London, March 18. Vases, plates, bowls and others, numbering more than 100 pieces of art, all hand-crafted and painted by the Spanish painter will be auctioned for prices ranging between 2,000 and 30,000 UK pounds.

Cate Blanchett and husband adopt daughter
Oscar-winning Australian actress Cate Blanchett and her husband have adopted a daughter, their fourth child, the couple's management said March 7.
"The Upton family have adopted a baby girl," a statement issued on behalf of the pair said. "Her name is Edith Vivian Patricia Upton."

World puppets in ?zmir
The 9th ?zmir International Puppet Days kicked in the western province on March 5.
This year, 40 puppet theater groups will perform 42 shows in 27 different venues within the festival program. Four exhibitions, one from Slovenia and another from Bulgaria, will host art lovers.
