Image of Russian gay couple wins World Press Photo as two awards go to Turkish photographer
An image of a gay couple locked in a tender embrace won the prestigious World Press Photo award on Feb. 12, highlighting the plight of sexual minorities in Russia.
But organisers said at least a quarter of all pictures reaching the penultimate round of the 58th edition of the contest were rejected because they were digitally enhanced, the organisers said.

Sellers mum on price of 'record' Gauguin sale
An heir to the trust that sold a celebrated Paul Gauguin painting refused Saturday to reveal the price, which was reported as a record $300 million (265 million euros).
The 1892 oil painting "Nafea faa ipoipo?" (When Will You Marry?) was created during a visit by the French post-impressionist master to Tahiti and is considered one of his major works.

Record-breaking 300 million USD sale for Gauguin painting
According to verifiable information, a private transaction took place in London, amounting to around 300 million USD. A Paul Gauguin painting was sold. The piece of art is dated 1892 and is titled “Nafea Faa Ipoipo” (“When will you Marry?”)

'Big Eyes' to open !f Film Festival
The 14th !f Istanbul Independent Films Festival will run between Feb. 12 and 22 in Istanbul and between Feb. 26 and March 1 in Ankara and ?zmir. The opening film of the festival will be master director Tim Burton?s latest film ?Big Eyes,? which will make its premier in Turkey.
