ASEAN Free Trade Area

Turkey's Asia Anew initiative will help the regions in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) to be known better," according to Turkey's ambassador to Laos.

Turkey aims to sign a free trade agreement with Thailand, said the country's foreign minister on July 28 as part of the 52nd Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).       

The first-ever Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Turkey Trilateral Ministerial Meeting was held in Singapore on Aug. 1, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.

The United States is bringing its Southeast Asian allies on board to tackle what senior officials described as the number one national security priority for the U.S. — North Korea's nuclear proliferation and missile threats — when foreign ministers from Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gather Thursday in Washington, Voice of America reported.
