State Department: Greece anchor of stability in East Med and Western Balkans
Washington is cultivating Greece as "an anchor of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Balkans," said Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Wess Mitchell, in a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, in which he outlined the Trump administration's strategy in Europe.
Mitchell to arrive in Belgrade on Tuesday
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell on Wednesday.
Mitchell will arrive in Belgrade on Tuesday evening, when he will speak with Serbian FM Ivica Dacic.

Mitchell heads to Athens, Nicosia as tensions rise
Tensions between Greece and Turkey are expected to be the focus of the visit of US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wes Mitchell to Athens on Thursday and Nicosia on Friday as part of a five-day tour of the region.
Prior to these visits, Mitchell heads to Pristina on Monday before arriving in Skopje on Tuesday and Belgrade on Wednesday.

US Assistant Secretary of State Nuland to Visit Bulgaria in January
US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland will visit Bulgaria in January.
In the Bulgarian capital, Nuland will meet with senior government officials to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, the website of the US Department of State informs.

Nuland, Pajtic: Opposition important for oversight of gov't
