Çatalhöyük source of inspiration for artists
The exhibition "The Trace of Memory: The Neolithic City of Çatalhöyük" is on display at the Atatürk Culture Center (AKM) Gallery.
Curated by Siret Uyanık, the exhibition is jointly organized by the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Konya Metropolitan Municipality. The project is being coordinated by Uyanık and Çatalhöyük Excavation Director Associate Professor Ali Umut Türkcan.

New neighborhood found in Çatalhöyük
Ali Umut Türkcan, associate professor from Anadolu University and the head of the Çatalhöyük Neolithic site excavations, has said that they have discovered a street in the newly excavated area at the ancient site, uncovering a second neighborhood.

Biological father shows up after foster family adopts baby
A foster family in the southern province of Adana has been fighting a legal battle for 1.5 years against their adopted son's biological father, who is asking for his son to be returned to him.
According to the lawsuit, a couple, Ayça Çatal and Atakan Çatal, got married in 2003 and did not have a baby for 12 years.
Boncuklu Höyük, the ancestor of Çatalhöyük
Archaeological excavations are continuing in the 10,000-year-old Boncuklu Höyük (mound), located nine kilometers from Çatalhöyük, one of the world's oldest settlements in the Karatay district of the Central Anatolian province of Konya.

No wars in Çatalhöyük for 4,000 years
In the Neolithic settlement of Çatalhöyük, founded by 8,000 people in the Central Anatolian province of Konya and one of the earliest settlements in the history of mankind, no war, conflict or violent attacks occurred, archaeological excavations in the region have revealed.

Euro court rejects case of dismissed Turkish judge
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on March 10 turned down a case brought by a Turkish judge dismissed over alleged links to the failed July 15, 2016 coup attempt, widely believed to have been masterminded by the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ).

Unique female sculpture found in Turkey's Çatalhöyük
Archaeological excavations in the Central Anatolian province of Konya's Çatalhöyük, headed by Professor Ian Hadder, have unearthed a well-preserved female figurine from the Neolithic era of 8,000-8,500 B.C.
The figurine has all parts of its body intact and has been defined as "unique."
Çatalhöyük drawing world's attention to Anatolia
Çatalhöyük's inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List has done wonders for tourism at the 9,000-year-old site in Central Anatolia, according to the head of the excavations at the site, Professor Ian Hodder.
"There has been an increase in the number of tourists. Çatalhöyük has become the center of archaeological tourism," he said.

Morgan Freeman films in Turkish province
Famous American actor Morgan Freeman has been spotted in the Central Anatolian province of Konya while shooting part of a documentary titled "The Story of God."
The documentary, which features religious experiences and rituals from around the world, is being filmed for the National Geographic channel.

Summer archaeology workshop in Çatalhöyük
The Çatalhöyük Archaeology Workshop, organized in the Neolithic age settlement of Çatalhöyük, will take place between June 27 and July 30 this year. According to a statement by Shell Turkey, which has been supporting the archaeological activities in the ancient city since 1995, it will provide support to the research project of Standford University this year, too.
