Kiril Petkov, co-chairman of "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), announced to bTV that the coalition would return their exploratory mandate empty-handed, hours before its scheduled handover at the presidency.

In a continuing standoff over the formation of Bulgaria's government, GERB leader Boyko Borissov reiterated the party's stance on proposing Mariya Gabriel as prime minister, refusing to yield ground despite opposition. Borissov's comments came amidst ongoing negotiations with the "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) coalition.

Atanas Atanassov, co-leader of Democratic Bulgaria (DB), emphasized the urgent need for National Assembly's attention on reforming special services, citing critical challenges they face.

"Russian priests were not expelled, people who worked against the national interests of Bulgaria were expelled." This is how Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov commented on the expulsion of the three priests from Russia and Belarus.

The National Security Service (NSS) has provided security for five high-ranking Bulgarian politicians, BNR reported.

The reason - threats made by foreign services. According to the BNR sources, the threats are from Russian services and those connected to Russia.

President Rumen Radev handed over the second exploratory mandate for forming a government to the second largest parliamentary party - the coalition "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB). Atanas Atanasov from DB told the president to instruct Acad. Nikolay Denkov to propose a cabinet composition to be submitted to the National Assembly for a vote.

GERB have requested that more of their ministers be included in the "Denkov" draft cabinet, in which only the name of Mariya Gabriel as the future Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs has been announced. This was confirmed by the candidate for prime minister from WCC-DB Nikolay Denkov after a question from the National Radio, specifying that they are not inclined to comply.
