Ryanair cancels winter flights to and from Hania
Among Ryanair's winter flight schedule cancellations affecting 34 destinations that the company announced Wednesday were all services to and from Hania. All Ryanair's winter flights between the Cretan airport and Athens, Thessaloniki and Paphos have been suspended, but the airline did say it would provide those who have already booked their flights with a full refund.

FRAPORT: “We found 12.000 burned out bulbs in the 14 regional airports”!
Apparently the Greek Civil Aviation Authority had left the 14 regional airports in the darkness. Therefore, when the German-Greek consortium FRAPORT took over last April, they found a total of 12.000 burned out bulbs in the fourteen regional airports.

Greek airline Sky Express, which provides connecting flights to Greek regional airports, has the shortest flight in Europe. It’s flight between the islands of Kassos and Karpathos lasts for only 5 minutes and is considered one of the shortest in the European continent and among the 10 shortest in the world.

Greek Union of Civil Servants Goes on Strike
Social tension in Greece is growing. The Union of Civil Servants (ADEDY), organiser of the 24-hour nationwide strike, insists on a suspension of the practice of part-time employment and the annulment of all laws leading to drastic cuts in wages.

Greek police net international migrant-smuggling gang
The Greek Police on Monday said it has dismantled an international criminal organization that helped smuggle undocumented migrants from Turkey into Central and Northern Europe via Iraklio's Nikos Kazantzakis Airport on the island of Crete.
