TripAdvisor: Greek restaurant in top 20 world list

Greek restaurant “Funky Gourmet”, in the area of Kerameikos, Athens was voted among the top 20 in TripAdvisor’s “2016 “Travellers’ Choice Awards”. Based on the site’s reviews, the Greek restaurant secured 16th spot on the list, while it was voted 12th in Europe. Spanish restaurant “Martin Berasategui” was the top pick for the site’s users both in Europe and globally.

Over 88,000 Greek passengers booked air flights online via the airtickets website for the 3 months in summer. According to the website’s data, the majority of the Greeks (69%) chose domestic destinations for their holidays, with Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Rhodes, Chania and Santorini being on the top of their list of preferences.

Six Olympic Air flights canceled

Olympic Air has canceled six domestic flights scheduled for Wednesday due to rolling walkouts by Civil Aviation Authority staff.

The affected flights were between Athens and the islands of Kythera, Paros and Leros, and inter-island flights between Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Astypalaia, Rhodes and Kastellorizo.

Olympic Air on Monday announced the cancellation of eight domestic flights scheduled for Tuesday due to a walkout by Civil Aviation Authority Staff.

The affected flights are between Athens and the islands of Paros, Rhodes, Kastellorizo and Karpathos.

UK charter lands in Athens after mechanical problem

A Thomson Airways charter flight from Manchester in the UK bound for the Greek island of Skiathos was forced to land at Athens International Airport on Tuesday following a mechanical problem with the aircraft's flaps.

No harm came to the 226 crew and passengers aboard the flight, who disembarked before being transferred to another plane to continue their journey.
