Qatar Airways announces new direct flights to Thessaloniki
Qatar Airways has announced that it will commence direct flights from Doha to Thessaloniki in March 2018.
Thessaloniki is the second airline destination for the airline company in Greece, as Qatar Airways already has three daily flights to Athens. According to its announcement, the airline will connect Doha to Thessaloniki with four direct flights per week.
Athens International Airport ranked in top EU terminals for passenger transport
The Athens International airport of Eleftherios Venizelos is ranked 22nd among 30 EU airports with the highest passenger transport having a total 20 million passengers last year. The El. Venizelos recorded a 10.6% rise in passenger transport compared last year.

Monika appeared on the country's indie music scene in 2008 with her debut album "Avatar," followed by a second, "Exit," in 2010.

Air Mediterranean adds 7 new destinations
Greek private airline company Air Mediterranean has added 7 new direct flights from Greece to London, Stockholm, Jeddah, Casablanca, Khartoum, Baghdad and Erbil. The Greek company, which entered the civil aviation market in January 2017, announced the new flights would be operating from November 1, with the fares starting from 85 euros including all airport levies and taxes.

Double-digit increase in air arrivals from abroad
International arrivals at the country's main airports increased 10.5 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2017, exceeding 6.5 million according to figures processed by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
The Athens airport had 1.94 million arrivals from abroad, followed by Iraklio (pictured) with 1.05 million and Thessaloniki with 840,000.

Athens Airport facelift coincides with 20-year concession extension
The image of Athens International Airport has improved considerably following recent infrastructure upgrades. The country's main airport can now use its fully automatic systems to serve up to 26 million passengers per annum, up from 20 million last year.
