Cab drivers arrested on fraud charges
Three taxi drivers, aged 52, 55 and 59, were arrested Tuesday in a police sweep in the area of Petralona and the the KTEL Liosion bus terminal.
The 59-year-old was detained on charges of using counterfeit money, while the 55-year-old is accused of tampering with his taximeter.
The 52-year-old was nabbed for using a fake driver's license.

UK charter lands in Athens after mechanical problem
A Thomson Airways charter flight from Manchester in the UK bound for the Greek island of Skiathos was forced to land at Athens International Airport on Tuesday following a mechanical problem with the aircraft's flaps.
No harm came to the 226 crew and passengers aboard the flight, who disembarked before being transferred to another plane to continue their journey.

Greek tourist police at hand at nine airports to assist visitors
The tourist police have opened up offices at nine Greek airports and will soon be inaugurating another at Athens International Airport, it has been announced.
Officers will be on duty at the kiosks to help visitors arriving in Greece with any questions they have relating to local laws or other tourist-related issues.
Foreign arrivals shrink marginally at the Athens Airport
Passenger traffic from abroad at Athens International Airport recorded an annual decline in April for the first time in several years, amounting to 0.5 percent. The 4.3 percent rise in domestic traffic led overall passenger numbers to an annual increase of 1.2 percent.
Holy Light arrives in Athens (video)
The Holy Light arrived at the international airport of Eleftherios Venizelos in Athens, Saturday, a little after 8 pm. The Holy Light arrived in Greece on the PM’s airplane and was greeted with honours reserved for state leaders.

Passenger traffic record at Athens airport
Passenger traffic at the Athens International Airport increased significantly in March by 17.1% – 1.29 million passengers – and setting a new record for the month, the airport said in a press release on Monday.

Lufthansa to expand no. of domestic flights in Greece
German passenger Airline ‘Lufthansa’ announced it would expand its daily Greek domestic flights to and from Athens and Thessaloniki this summer to include new routes to Kerkyra, Zakynthos, Mykonos, Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes and Santorini.

Aegean flight to Brussels will land at Dusseldorf airport
Aegean flight A3620 departed from Athens International airport at 8:30 with final destination Brussels Airport will land at Dusseldorf airport at 10:30 AM (local time) instead, Aegean Airlines posted on Twitter.
