Transport and Infrastructure Minister Kostas A. Karamanlis on Monday reiterated his pledge that Thessaloniki's long-delayed metro will be delivered in full in 2023.

Transport Ministry mulls mandatory use of surgical masks
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Kostas A. Karamanlis said Thursday that he is considering making the use of surgical masks on public transport mandatory when the government starts easing some of the restrictions introduced last month to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Athens public transport to cut non-peak schedules by half
Athens public transportation schedules will be reduced in non-peak times to reflect coronavirus restrictions that have led to an 80 pct drop in passenger use, manager company OASA said on Monday.
Late-night services stopped on Athens metro and tram
After-midnight services of the Athens metro and the tram will be suspended as of Friday while the number of bus routes will be reduced, according to a statement issued by the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) on Thursday.
Athens’ Agia Marina metro station closed on weekend for work
Athens metro operator Attiko Metro said on Tuesday that the Agia Marina station will be closed on the weekend of March 14 and 15.
The station, which is the western terminus of the metro's Line 3, will be closed as work is carried on the line's extension to the suburbs of Agia Varvara, Korydallos and Nikaia.
Decision made on Thessaloniki metro antiquities
The Culture Ministry has approved a proposal by the Central Archaeological Council (KAS) for antiquities unearthed during excavation work for the Thessaloniki metro to be removed and repositioned there at a later date.
