Athens commuters are set for fresh travel disruptions on Friday due to a planned 24-hour strike, the second this week, by workers on the Athens metro, tram and the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP).

In some cases residential property prices fell by more than 65 percent between the end of 2008 and end-2016, one of the worst periods on record for the market in Greece. Today, prices have fallen to particularly attractive levels, especially when compared to those during the years preceding the economic crisis.

Transport workers in Athens are on Wednesday taking part in the second of three 24-hour strikes to object to legislation that will allow the transport organization to make commercial use of stations.

Metro, electric railway (ISAP) and tram workers are taking part in the walk-out, leaving a build-up of traffic in the Greek capital.

A video of a horrific accident on the Athens-Lamia national highway on Sunday, which left four people dead, has gone viral, exposing the dangerous problem of speeding on Greek roads.

The strikes will mean services on the metro, tram and ISAP are totally suspended on Wednesday and Friday though will operate normally on Thursday.
