EU mobilization to tackle Greek fires totals over 350 firefighters, 12 aircraft from 7 countries
Over 350 firefighters, 50 vehicles, and 12 aircraft have been mobilized by the European Commission, "helping to battle the flames across Greece," European Commission spokesperson for Budget and Human Resources, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Balazs Ujvari said in a statement uploaded on social media on Monday.
Looking after the four-legged survivors of Attica’s fires
A volunteer with Dog's Voice looks after a puppy rescued from this week's Attica wildfires. The non-governmental organization took in 444 cats and dogs and managed to reunite or rehome most of them, with 74 still in its care at an emergency shelter set up at a disused quarry in the Athens suburb of Galatsi, it said in an announcement on Friday. Wildfires Cause Havoc – and Arguments – in Balkans
Balkan countries are battling wildfires that have claimed eight lives in Turkey and injured hundreds more, while one person died in Albania and a military officer been injured.

PM in Mati to commemorate victims of 2018 wildfires
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was in the seaside town of Mati on Tuesday for a commemoration of last summer's deadly eastern Attica wildfires, which claimed 102 lives and caused widespread destruction.
Mitsotakis and other officials will also attend a religious service that will be held at 9.30 a.m. at the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin (Koimisis tis Theotokou).

Attica Regional Governor Rena Dourou has submitted a written statement to prosecutors investigating this summer's deadly east Attica wildfires, in which she claims no responsibility for the magnitude of the destruction and the massive loss of life.

Fire survivor sues officials
A woman who lost her family in last month's Attica wildfires has filed a criminal lawsuit against seven officials, claiming that state services' "total lack of communication and confusion" caused the tragedy that claimed 96 lives.
