Museums, archaeological sites to hold special events for full moon
A total of 115 museums and archaeological sites across Greece will be open to the public with free admission and special events for the full moon on the evening of August 7. Others will hold events from August 5 to 9. In Attica, the Acropolis will be open until 8 p.m. and Sounio until midnight.
Adrian Villar Rojas | Athens | To September 24
"The Theater of Disappearance" is a large-scale site-specific installation by Adrian Villar Rojas. This is the first time the celebrated Argentinean artist has worked at an archaeological site, where he has radically altered both the indoor and outdoor space of the National Observatory of Athens in Thiseio. The installation will remain in place until September 24.

Youth Orchestra | Athens | August 1
The Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra (SEYO) - comprising 190 young musicians aged 10 to 20, as well as 30 music teachers from 27 countries - will be performing at the capital's Roman-era Herod Atticus Theater on Tuesday, August 1, at 9 p.m.

Legendary battleship returns after conservation work
Tugs tow the 107-year-old battleship Georgios Averof to Trocadero marina in Palaio Faliro in southern Athens, Wednesday. The 10,000-ton former Hellenic Navy flagship returned to its berth, where it serves as a floating museum, after months of privately funded maintenance and conservation work at the Skaramangas shipyard.
Chinese naval fleet arrives in Greece for friendly visit
A Chinese naval fleet arrived on Sunday at Piraeus port for a four-day friendly visit to Greece, conveying a message of friendship and cooperation.
Double-digit increase in air arrivals from abroad
International arrivals at the country's main airports increased 10.5 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2017, exceeding 6.5 million according to figures processed by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
The Athens airport had 1.94 million arrivals from abroad, followed by Iraklio (pictured) with 1.05 million and Thessaloniki with 840,000.

Damages sought for smashed shops
The Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEA) is demanding compensation for the owners of 42 shops in the city center that suffered damage from vandals during a protest on Monday night.

Greek developer Lamda plans to list shopping mall business
Lamda Development said on Wednesday in a stock filing that the total value for 100 percent of the shopping center The Mall Athens amounts to 381.2 million euros.
Anarchists trash stores on Ermou Street in solidarity with jailed woman
Self-styled anarchists smashed the facades of more than 40 shops on Ermou Street in central Athens late on Monday night following a protest against the rejection of an appeal by a 29-year-old woman against her conviction on terrorism charges.
Protesters smashed the entrances of stores along the entire length of Ermou Street as well as two bank ATMs near Monastiraki station.
