A 10-year-old girl lost her life on Sunday under undisclosed circumstances in a residential complex pool located in the town of Nea Makri on Attica's eastern coast. 

The child was discovered unconscious in the pool and was transported by an EKAV ambulance to a nearby health center, where her death was confirmed. 

The Hellenic Society for Environment and Culture (ELLET) and three environmental organizations are calling for a review of the Erasinos River management project in the Mesogeia region of Attica. 

The car of a man who works at Athens' high-security Korydallos prison was targeted in an explosion at the district of Haidari, western Athens, early Saturday morning, police said. 

The vehicle was parked in an open parking area when a hand grenade exploded at 5 a.m., causing extensive damages to the black jeep and minor ones to two more cars parked nearby.

A family was awarded 310,000 euros in compensation on Thursday for the death of a woman during the Mati wildfire in 2018. This was the second ruling of a three-member Court of First Instance in Athens.

The rate of house price growth is continuously exceeding record highs, according to data compiled by the Bank of Greece for the first quarter of this year. Vassilis Roubetis who was assassinated in a late-night ambush on Wednesday in the Korydallos district of Athens, had expressed concerns about being targeted for a contract killing, according to two separate sources within the Hellenic Police (ELAS), as reported by Kathimerini.
