Romania's SARS-CoV-2 daily case count rises by 2,550; tests performed in last 24 hours - over 30,000
A number of 2,550 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, following more than 30,000 tests performed nationwide, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday. These are cases that have not previously tested positive, says GCS. As of Friday, 757,676 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania.
COVID-19 death toll rises by 95 to 19,056
Another 95 people - 54 men and 41 women - infected with SARS-CoV-2 died in the last 24 hours, according to data transmitted on Tuesday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the total number of those who died reaching 19,056.

Foreign Ministry announces change of US air travel requirements in light of pandemic
All US-bound air travelers are required to present upon boarding a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours (3 days) before arrival to the US; both molecular and antigen tests are accepted, Romania's Foreign Ministry said in a release on the new measures announced by the American authorities regarding the requirements for entering the US in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
MS requests postponement of relaxation measures in Bucharest, due to cases of infection with new SARS-CoV-2 variant
Two other cases of infection with the increased transmissibility SARS-CoV-2 variant were sequenced at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases "Matei Bals", informed the Ministry of Health, specifying that it recommended, on Friday, to the Bucharest City Emergency Management Committee (CMBSU) to postpone the decisions to relax the restrictions.

As many as 3,353 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania were recorded in the last 24 hours following more than 31,000 tests nationwide, of which 25,626 RT-PCR tests and 5,453 rapid antigen tests, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday.
State of alert in Romania extended by 30 days from January 13
The Romanian government approved at a meeting on Tuesday extending by 30 days the state of alert in Romania from January 13. According to a governmental press statement, the decision on extending the state of alert and establishing measures to be applied during it to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic was adopted as placed on the agenda of the government meeting.
EODY announces 444 new SARS-CoV-2 cases, 39 deaths
Greece's National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announced on Monday 444 new SARS-CoV-2 infections in the country, which brought the total number to 145,179.
EODY said there were 350 intubated patients in hospitals (median age is 68), while 962 have left ICU.
At the same time, 39 patients died from Covid-19, raising the total number of fatalities to 5302.
