A number of 2,550 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, following more than 30,000 tests performed nationwide, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday. These are cases that have not previously tested positive, says GCS. As of Friday, 757,676 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania.

Another 95 people - 54 men and 41 women - infected with SARS-CoV-2 died in the last 24 hours, according to data transmitted on Tuesday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the total number of those who died reaching 19,056.

According to a governmental press statement, the decision on extending the state of alert and establishing measures to be applied during it to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic was adopted as placed on the agenda of the government meeting.

Greece's National Organization of Public Health (EODY) announced on Monday 444 new SARS-CoV-2 infections in the country, which brought the total number to 145,179.

EODY said there were 350 intubated patients in hospitals (median age is 68), while 962 have left ICU.

At the same time, 39 patients died from Covid-19, raising the total number of fatalities to 5302.
