Turkey's auto production tops 415,000 in Jan-May

Automakers in Turkey produced 415,454 vehicles, including automobiles, light commercial vehicles, and tractors, in January-May, according to a sectoral report released on June 8. 

In the first five months of 2020, Turkey's auto production dropped 35% on a yearly basis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said the Automotive Manufacturers Association.

Auto production over 352,000 in January-April 2020

Automakers in Turkey manufactured 352,309 vehicles -- including automobiles and commercial vehicles -- between January and April 2020, according to a sectoral report on May 10.

Turkey's auto production slipped 28 percent on a yearly basis due to factory shutdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic, said the Automotive Manufacturers' Association.

Ford resumes single-shift production in Craiova, with 4 May

Ford announced on Tuesday the gradual resumption of production of vehicles and engines at its main plants in Europe, starting on 4 May, and southern Craiova plant will resume operations in stages, in a single shift, in both the Vehicle Production and the Engine Production Sections, a Ford Romania release says.

Turkey’s domestic car venture appoints CMO

The joint venture which will produce Turkey's first locally made car has appointed a former employee of France's Groupe Renault as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Talin Yıldız was the Global Marketing Director of the French automotive giant, according to her LinkedIn profile. She has taken the position of CMO at Turkey's Automobile Joint Venture Group (TOGG) as of April 1.
