Türkiye announced that it has renamed the Incirlik Tanker Base as "10th Main Jet Base Command," in line with the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), a move that will allow the deployment of F-16 jetfighters on the facility, according to a statement by the Defense Ministry.

Türkiye's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, arrived in the country on Feb. 12, a few days after returning to Earth and completing his two-week mission in space.

The preparations are underway for the 10th edition of Teknofest, the world's largest space, aviation and technology festival, to be held in the southern province of Adana this year.

"Don't look far. Teknofest 2024 is in Adana," Selçuk Bayraktar, chairman of the Teknofest Board of Directors and the Turkish Technology Team (T3) Foundation, announced.

Türkiye's largest technology and space festival, Teknofest, opened its doors in the western province of İzmir on Sept. 27, with expectations of attracting millions of participants and featuring hundreds of competing projects in the third and last edition of the event for this year.

Turkish Airlines carried a total of 38.7 million passengers in the first half of 2023, up from 30.9 percent a year earlier.

International passengers rose more than 27 percent in January-June from the same period of 2022 to 24.5 million.

The domestic passenger tally increased by 22 percent to 14.2 million, the flag carrier said in a filing with Borsa Istanbul.

Türkiye's airports are expected to serve more than 200 million passengers this year, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has said.

Washington is considering granting approval for the transfer of F-16 upgrade kits and the sale of 40 new F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, conditional on Turkey agreeing to transfer its existing fleet of older F-16s to Ukraine, broadcaster Haberturk has reported.

Türkiye has to give importance to the modernization plans to balance the air power in the Aegean in case of Greece's new aircraft projects, retired Turkish Air Force commander General Abidin Ünal has aid, adding that Türkiye should also rely on its domestic infrastructure.

One of the most discussed issues recently is the balance of power in the air force between Türkiye and Greece.
