Turkey evacuating Turkish nationals from Ukraine via land

Turkey has ramped up efforts to evacuate thousands of Turkish nationals from Ukraine via land after they were stranded there following Russia's invasion.

Turkish officials from foreign missions in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova, are now at the Ukrainian borders of those countries to coordinate the evacuation efforts.

Azerbaijan to host Teknofest this May

Teknofest, one of the world's biggest aviation, space and technology festivals, will hold its first edition abroad in the Azerbaijani capital Baku in May.

The four-day event that is scheduled to take place between May 26 and May 29 will feature 10 technology competitions in fields such as rockets, agriculture, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Turkey unveils space agency's strategic plan for 2022-26

The Turkish Space Agency's strategic plan for 2022-26 was unveiled in a report on Oct. 20, setting out its aim of making Turkey globally competitive through developing the aerospace sector.

The report contains the basic principles and policies of the space agency, medium- and long-term goals, and performance criteria.

Turkey’s biggest aero event set to kick off

Teknofest, Turkey's largest aerospace and technology gathering and the world's second-biggest aviation event, will kick off tomorrow in Istanbul.

The five-day festival, jointly organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3) and the Industry and Technology Ministry, is going to last until Sept. 26 in Istanbul's Atatürk Airport.

Turkish airports host 18.3 mln passengers in August

Turkish airports saw 18.3 million passengers in August, the country's air travel authority announced on Sept. 7.

"This August, the air passenger traffic, which was smashed by the coronavirus pandemic worldwide, was pretty close to its levels in August 2019 (23 million passengers)," the State Airports Authority General Directorate (DHMI) said in a statement.
