TAV Academy becomes an internationally certified training center

The TAV Academy, the training and consulting company of TAV Airports, has been certified by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) following their audit, with TAV Academy being listed among its 16 international private training centers, the company said in a written statement Aug. 27. 

At Least One Pilot Killed after Two Planes Collide at Swiss Airshow

At least one pilot has reportedly died after two small planes collided at an airshow in the village of Dittingen, in Switzerland's Basel canton, on Sunday.

Skynews quoted police sources as saying that the two aircraft involved in the mid-air collision were flying in a formation of three. The third plane wasn't involved in the accident and landed safely. 

Turkish police ramping up drone purchases in fight against terror

The Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM), Turkey's defense procurement agency, said in a statement on Aug. 21 that it had launched a process to buy 15 drones from the state Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) and 15 from Istanbul-based developer Baykar Makine, for use by police forces. Twelve of the newly purchased drones are considered "urgent."

Bulgarian Cabinet to Decide on Repair Contract of MiG-29 Fighter Jets

The Bulgarian government will decide at its regular meeting on Wednesday whether to approve the contract devised by the Defence Ministry on the repair of the engines of MiG-29 fighter jets by Poland.

The contract, which is entitled "draft decision for approval of a draft agreement between Bulgaria and Poland for cooperation in the military area", comes tenth on the agenda.
