Turkish Airlines profit almost triples, plans $3 bln investment
Turkish Airlines posted a 2014 net profit that almost tripled yesterday and unveiled plans to invest more than $3 billion mostly on its fleet, partly financed by a bond issue in the coming months.
Net profit rose to 1.82 billion Turkish Liras ($739 million) from 683 million liras, in line with a Reuters poll forecast of 1.81 billion.
Sales rose 29 percent to 24.1 billion.

Faulty Indicator May Have Forced Return of PM Borisov's Plane to Sofia Wednesday
A faulty indicator is the most likely reason for the aircraft carrying Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to Brussels to have to return to Sofia Airport on Wednesday evening, presa.bg has reported.
According to preliminary results of the inspection of the aircraft's systems, the left leg of the landing gear had retracted properly but a signalling device in the cockpit indicated otherwise.
Turkish helicopter conducts flyover of Kos – military issues statement
A Turkish military helicopter was tracked and spotted flying over the eastern Aegean island of Kos on Thursday, reportedly at an altitude of less than 1,000 feet.
The aircraft entered the Athens FIR at 09.08 GMT, while a minute later it was over the eastern portion of the island, exiting the Athens FIR at 09.13 GMT.
