Kovacevic: Gas interconnectors strengthen Serbia's position as transit country

BAKU - State Secretary at Serbia's Ministry of Mining and Energy Veljko Kovacevic said on Friday in Baku that, by completing a natural gas interconnector with Bulgaria, Serbia had attained the possibility to connect to various gas supply sources, which he noted could improve its energy security and bolster its position as a gas transit country.

Greece's Gastrade launches market test for Alexandroupoli LNG terminal

Greek natural gas company Gastrade on Tuesday launched a market test for a liquified natural gas terminal it is developing in northern Greece.

Companies interested in seeking services and capacity in the terminal must submit non-binding expressions of interest within 45 days, it said.

Turkish Stream Will Be Costlier than South Stream - Bulgaria's Energy Minister

Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has insisted that the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project will be costlier than the South Stream project.

In a Monday interview for the morning broadcast of the Bulgarian National Television, Petkova argued that the Turkish Stream gas pipeline had to cross an EU Member State.

Croatia Accelerates New Gas Terminal Project

Croatian deputy prime minister Branko Grcic said on Wednesday that the cancellation of the South Stream project was "an impulse to build the LNG terminal even faster".

Grcic said that the cancellation of South Stream, which was due to take Russian gas through Bulgaria and Serbia to Europe, would make the terminal on Krk more valuable.
