Turkish customs officials seized over 46 kilograms (101 pounds) of drugs in separate anti-narcotic operations at the Istanbul Airport, according to security sources on Sept. 27.
The officials found six passengers and two cargo shipments arriving in Turkey on different flights suspicious, said the sources on condition of anonymity.

Turkish Airlines extends flight suspension
Turkish Airlines' flight suspension due to coronavirus has been extended into early to mid-June, the national flag carrier has announced.
Domestic flights are now suspended until June 4 and international flights until June 10, said an airline statement late on May 20.
The earlier suspension lasted until May 28.

Some 800,000 liras worth beaver pelts seized at Ankara airport
Customs officers seized 240 beaver pelts in the luggage of a passenger arriving from Ukraine to Turkey at Ankara's Esenboğa Airport on Jan. 7.
An investigation was carried out by the customs authorities on a notice that a passenger would arrive with a large number of animal pelts.
Bulgarians with Children Blocked at the Frankfurt Airport
Bulgarians were blocked at the Frankfurt airport for more than 24 hours. According to them, the cause of the incident is the large queues on checkout counters, Dilyan Kalchev from NOVA TV reported.
"The group was made up of about 35 people, including people with small children and people who had surgery recently," said on of the affected people, Daniel Bratanov.
