MHP head Bahçeli returns to office after heart surgery

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli returned to his office on Feb. 8 after resting for 24 days following heart surgery. 

Bahçeli went to the MHP headquarters in the Turkish capital Ankara on Feb. 8. It is also reported that he will be addressing his party's weekly group meeting in parliament on Feb. 9.

Deputy chairman addresses MHP instead of Bahçeli

Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) deputy chairman Oktay Vural replaced his leader, Devlet Bahçeli, who is still recovering from a heart surgery, for the first time at the party's weekly group meeting at parliament on Jan. 26. 

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli had a scheduled, preventative open-heart surgery on Jan. 20. 

MHP names members for charter panel with hopes of strengthening parliamentary system

The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has named three lawmakers to represent the party in a parliamentary commission to be tasked with drafting a new constitution, with party leader Devlet Bahçeli underlining their aspirations of strengthening the current parliamentary system.
