Montreux treaty red line for Turkey, says MHP leader
The Montreux Convention is a red line for Turkey that guarantees peace and stability in the Black Sea, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader said on April 6.
"First of all, I would like to say that Montreux Convention signed in 1936 is a component and inseparable part of the Treaty of Lausanne," Devlet Bahçeli told his party's parliamentary group in the capital Ankara.
Turkish officials lambast ex-soldiers' 'declaration'
Ankara's Chief Public Prosecutor on April 4 launched an investigation into a declaration released by 104 retired admirals over remarks made by Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop on the Montreux Convention.
The declaration has drawn strong reactions from the government and officials.

MHP leader warns youngsters to stay away from violence
