Turkey on positive track of fiscal discipline: Minister
Turkey's January-May primary balance shows that the nation resolutely maintained its fiscal discipline policies, the treasury and finance minister said on June 15.
The current account deficit data released on Monday indicates that we are on the path to recovery, Lütfi Elvan said in a tweet.
Turkey's current account posts $1.71 bln gap in April
Turkey's current account balance posted a deficit of some $1.71 billion in April, down by $3.58 billion from the same month last year, the Turkish Central Bank announced on June 14.
According to the balance of payments figures released by the bank, the country's 12-month rolling deficit totaled around $32.7 billion.
Turkey's current account posts $2.6 bln gap in February
Turkey's current account balance posted a $2.6 billion gap in February, increasing by $1.23 billion from the same month last year, the Turkish Central Bank announced on April 12.
According to the balance of payments figures released by the bank, the country's 12-month rolling deficit totaled nearly $37.8 billion.
Turkey's current account gap shrinks in January
Turkey's current account deficit narrowed by 8% year-on-year in January, the Turkish Central Bank said on March 11.
The deficit was $1.87 billion in the month, down from $2.03 billion in January 2020, according to the bank's balance of payments report.
The improvement was fueled by a decrease in the goods deficit, despite a lower services surplus registered in the month.

Turkey's 2020 current account deficit at $36.7 bln: Central Bank
Amid pressure from the coronavirus pandemic, Turkey ran a current account deficit of $36.7 billion in 2020, the Turkish Central Bank announced on Feb. 12.
The figure widened from a surplus of nearly $6.76 billion the previous year (with revisions), the bank said.
Turkey's current account balance sees $4 bln gap in Nov
Turkey's current account balance posted a deficit of $4.06 billion in November 2020, the country's Central Bank revealed on Jan. 11.
The 12-month rolling deficit thus reached $37.97 billion, the bank noted.
An Anadolu Agency survey last week showed that economists had expected a deficit of $3.4 billion.
Turkey's current account balance sees $273 mln gap in October
Turkey's current account balance posted a deficit of $273 million in October, bringing 12-month rolling deficit to $33.79 billion, the Turkish Central Bank revealed on Dec. 11.
The figure was a $2.74-billion surplus in the same month last year, while it was down from $1.8 billion deficit previous month, the bank said.
Central Bank reserves at $84.5 bln in October
The Turkish Central Bank's official reserve assets grew 6.1% month-on-month to reach $84.5 billion in October, according to data released on Nov. 27.
Foreign currency reserves- in convertible foreign currencies- increased by 12.4% to hit $40.8 billion, according to the bank's international reserves and foreign currency liquidity report.

Current account registers $2.9 bln gap in June
Turkey's current account balance posted a deficit of $2.93 billion in June, slightly down from the market expectation, according to the Turkish Central Bank data on Aug. 14.
The June figure widened by $2.8 billion from the same month last year, data showed.
The country's 12-month rolling deficit totaled at $11.1 billion, the bank said.

Current account deficit drops to EUR 3.497 billion as of 30 June
The current account of the balance of payments registered a deficit of EUR 3.497 billion in the first six months of the year, compared to EUR 4.373 billion in the same period of 2019, shows data from the National Bank of Romania (BNR) published on Thursday.
