€ 600 Million More Foreign Investments in Bulgaria since the Beginning of the Year

In August 2019, Bulgaria's current account surplus exceeded EUR 1.1 billion, while foreign direct investment increased by EUR 76 million, but with a total increase of over EUR 600 million since the beginning of the year, BNB data on Bulgaria's balance of payments show, BNR reported.

Greek current account surplus inches down in July, tourism revenues rise

Greece's current account balance showed a slightly smaller surplus in July compared to the same month last year, as imports outpaced exports, the Bank of Greece said on Friday. 

Central bank data showed the surplus at 1.28 billion euros ($1.41 billion) compared to a surplus of 1.31 billion euros in July 2018. 

Greek current account surplus widens

Greece's current account balance showed a larger surplus in May compared to the same month last year, on the back of an improved balance in the primary income account due to lower net payments for interest and dividends, the Bank of Greece said on Friday.

Central bank data showed the surplus at 301 million euros from a surplus of 37 million euros in May 2018.
