Vucic: Serbia must continue on EU path while safeguarding its interests

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday evening it was good Serbia had made progress on 31 out of 34 chapters of the EU accession talks and that it was important for the country to move forward on the EU path while safeguarding its national interests.

Tourist visits in Serbia up by 3.3 pct y-o-y in September

BELGRADE - Serbia registered 3.3 pct more tourist visits in September 2023 relative to the same month of last year and the number of overnight stays was down by 9.5 pct, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were down by 21.9 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 12.8 pct y-o-y.

Von der Leyen, Brnabic discuss EU growth plan, reforms

BELGRADE - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Serbian PM Ana Brnabic in Belgrade on Tuesday to discuss an EU growth plan for the Western Balkans.

"I discussed Serbia's reforms in the context of the Growth Plan with the Serbian PM," von der Leyen wrote in a post on the social media network X.
