Greece's name dispute with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is a loose end that can and should be tied up. Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias is looking to resolve all major pending issues with neighboring FYROM and Albania so that Greece can deal with the biggest front, which is Turkey.

Potami urges gov't to clarify position on FYROM name dispute

Greece's centrist To Potami party on Thursday urged the coalition government to clarify its position on the name dispute with Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).

"We are expecting to see the position of the government, not only of SYRIZA. There is no room for petty political games," Potami said in a statement.

FYROM citizens split along ethnic lines on name issue

The citizens of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are split along ethnic lines with regard to the change of the neighboring country's constitutional name in order to reach an agreement with Greece and secure NATO membership, a local poll has shown, with 49 percent of people rejecting any name change.

New Democracy calls for 'national position' on major foreign policy issues

Opposition New Democracy is pushing for a "national position" on all major issues of foreign policy and is calling on the government to clarify its stance in regard to fresh talks on the name dispute between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).

Serbia to host field simulation exercise with NATO in 2018

BRUSSELS - In 2018, Serbia will for the first time host a field simulation exercise for emergency situations in cooperation with the NATO Euro-Atlantic Centre for Disaster Response (EADRCC), according to EuropeanWesternBalkans.com.

Serbia has successfully participated in similar exercises in Montenegro in 2016 and in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2017, the portal notes.
