Tchaikovsky Festival | Athens | December 22 – January 7
The internationally acclaimed Imperial Classical Ballet of Ukraine presents three of Tchaikovsky's most loved works over the Christmas holidays at the Athens College Theater (15 Stefanou Delta, Psychiko). "The Nutcracker," "Sleeping Beauty" and "Swan Lake" will capture the magic of Christmas in a celebration of the legendary composer's greatest work.
Dance workshop for quake victims
World-famous ballerina Maude Sabourin and the former ballet artist of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, Melih Mertel, will come to Istanbul to give dance workshops.
All proceeds of the workshop to be held at the Kadıköy Süreyya Opera Stage on June 21 will be donated to the Turkish Volunteers Foundation for those affected by the deadly Feb. 6 earthquakes.

Bolshoi pulls Nureyev ballet citing ban on LGBT ‘propaganda’
Russia's Bolshoi Theater has removed a ballet dedicated to dancer Rudolf Nureyev from its repertoire, citing a new Russian law that expands restrictions on activities seen as promoting LGBT rights, its director said Wednesday.
Mix of genres at Ljubljana Festival
The 71st Ljubljana Festival, the largest summer festival in the country, will bring an eclectic mix of performances from 20 June to 3 September. Ballet, opera and classical music remain the mainstay, but they will be interspersed with music for fans of fantasy, rock and musicals.

‘Minkus Night’ in Kadıköy
'Minkus Night,' to be staged by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet on March 31 and April 1at the Kadıköy Municipality Süreyya Opera, will present a selection of the most difficult and beautiful parts of the ballet works that have an important place in the classical ballet repertoire, inspired by the music of Ludwig Minkus. The event will start at 8:30 pm.

Clug powerless as Bolshoi picks his ballet to drop Kremlin-critical artist
Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre has decided to cancel a ballet production by the Kremlin-critical director Kirill Serebrennikov and replace it with a ballet by Slovenian-based choreographer Edward Clug. Clug says he is powerless because the Bolshoi holds exclusive rights to his ballet until 2026.

Controversial Paris Opera dance chief quits
The director of dance at the Paris Opera, Aurelie Dupont, who faced criticism in the past over her leadership, announced her surprise resignation on June 16.
The 49-year-old ex-star dancer said she was devoting herself to new projects including a book and documentary.

Maguy Marin to perform in Turkey for first time
Maguy Marin, a prominent figure in contemporary dance who art lovers have been waiting for years to see, is coming to Turkey for the first time.
Marin, one of the pioneers of a new wave of dance in France, will be on stage tonight at Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall with his stage choreography and a masterpiece called May B.

‘Amadeus’ ballet on stage in Mersin
Mersin State Opera and Ballet will present the ballet 'Amadeus' at the Cultural Center Opera Stage on Jan 20 at 8 pm. The work was produced by Serbulent Biçer, Özlem Şenormanlılar and Ender Üçdemir, while its choreography was made by Nugzar Magalashvili and the libretto by Medeia Magalashvili.
