UK’s top ballet stars leap back into spotlight

After a year of playing to empty houses, Britain's Royal Ballet dancers William Bracewell and Fumi Kaneko are eager to "celebrate what we do best" when they return to the public stage as Romeo and Juliet.

"I haven't done this, a three-act ballet for ages," Japanese prima ballerina Kaneko told AFP after a rehearsal of the famous balcony scene.

Unable to open its doors this year due to the Covid restrictions, the annual Christmas Theater program of holiday events has gone online with a shorter program of live-streamed shows. For the Christmas holiday it will be streaming Tchaikovsky's family favorite "Sleeping Beauty" with the 1966 choreography by Rudolf Nureyev for Milan's La Scala.

Since the beginning of 2019, 1346 foreign nationals from third countries have been granted permission to work in Bulgaria, according to data from the Employment Agency, including seasonal workers.

The Village Cinemas multiplex in Faliro is screening the UK Royal Opera House's classic production of Sergei Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," choreographed by Sir Kenneth MacMillan. His take on the tale of the star-crossed lovers premiered at Covent Garden in 1965 and was an immediate success.

There is a New Chief of the Bulgaria's Agriculture Commission

The Parliament elected Maria Belova as chairman of the Agricultural Commission in place of Desislava Taneva, who took over the post of Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

Georgi Stankov became a member of the Committee on the Policies for Bulgarians Abroad. His place in the Defense Committee took Gemma Grozdanova.
