ECB to Stop Producing EUR 500 Note

The European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to stop production and issuance of the EUR 500 banknote.

The ECB has also decided to exclude the largest note denomination from the Europa series, "taking into account concerns that this banknote could facilitate illicit activities", the Bank said in a statement on Wednesday.

Bulgarian Police Bust Criminal Group Making Fake Euro Notes  

Bulgarian police have cracked down on a criminal group dealing in production and distribution of counterfeit euro notes, the Ministry of the Interior announced on Thursday.

Police, acting jointly with customs officials and prosecutors, have thwarted an attempt to produce and distribute 50 million euro in fake banknotes, the ministry said in a statement.

Historical moneys in Turkish fair

The "Abullionaire - 2016 Istanbul Money Fair" will be held in Istanbul's Grand Cevahir Hotel between April 15 and 17. 

The fair, which is organized by collector and businessman Ahmet Sand?kç?, will be joined by nearly 400 collectors from some 20 countries and display historical banknotes and coins from around 40 countries.

ECB President Mario Draghi On Tuesday presented in Frankfurt the newly designed 20-euro note and announced that it will be launched on Nov. 25.

It is worth noting that the new banknote is designed with extra safety net, which makes it extremely difficult or even imposible to copy correctly.
